Non-Immigrant Visa Appointment System
To obtain an appointment for a visa* interview, please click here. Before scheduling an appointment, you will be asked to fill out and print an online electronic visa application form. You will need the barcode generated by the completed visa form in order to make your appointment. You must bring the completed visa application form, including the page displaying the barcode, as well as your appointment receipt, to your interview.
You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader version 5.0 or higher installed on your computer in order to download and print the completed application form. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader version 5.0 or higher, you may download a copy from Adobe's web site.
Please select the date most convenient for you and make a separate appointment for each applicant who will appear in person. (See note below on applicants who are not required to appear in person.) If you are in the process of obtaining a new passport, you may input your old passport number. The phone number you provide will only be used if necessary to cancel your appointment in the unlikely event of an emergency. If the date you want is not available, please select another date. Print out a copy of your appointment receipt to bring to your interview. If you must cancel an appointment, please send an email to consularbridge2@state.gov to make the appointment slot available for another applicant.

OBTAINING AN EXPEDITED INTERVIEW APPOINTMENT:
The waiting period for an interview appointment varies with demand; at some times of year the wait can be as short as a couple of days, while at others it can be as long as several weeks. Qualified applicants can ensure their ability to obtain a visa in time for their planned travel by requesting their appointments early. Failure to plan ahead for non-emergency travel is not grounds for an expedited appointment. However, the consular section will schedule expedited appointments in cases where a genuine emergency exists. Examples of such emergencies include:
Emergency medical treatment, including the travel of persons traveling with the patient, such as a parent accompanying a child;
A genuine family emergency, such as a death in the family;
Emergent business travel which cannot be postponed.
Applicants in these categories or with similar emergency travel needs who have tried unsuccessfully to obtain a timely appointment through our on-line appointment system may call the NIV hotline at (246) 228-6340 or send an e-mail to consularbridge2@state.gov to explain their situation. A consular supervisor may authorize scheduling an expedited appointment in such cases.
*A visa gives the bearer permission to apply for admission to the US. A Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer at the US port of entry will determine how long the visitor is permitted to stay. Tourist visits on B1/B2 visas may not initially exceed six (6) months.
