Fireworks to Celebrate U.S. Independence

The U.S. Ambassador to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean and Mr. Ourisman were joined  by many Local Officials and hundreds of Saint Lucians  in celebrating the United States Independence on Friday July 4th.

Celebrations took place on board the ship USS Simpson  which was visiting St. Lucia for this event.

While there, the crew of the USS Simpson participated in many community activities.

National Youth Science Camp 2008

3 Barbadian Students to Participate in the National Youth Science Camp 2008 in the US

Amit Jones, Adam Steinbok and Melanie Holder, 3 students from Barbados are participating in the National Youth Science Camp in the United States.

Adam, Amit and Melanie met with Public Affairs Officer, John Roberts. Adam and Amit are from Harrison College and Melanie is a Queen’s College student. full story

U.S. Soccer Team Wins in Barbados

Ambassador Mary Ourisman received her soccer jersey from coach Bob Bradley of the visiting US Soccer team

The visiting US Soccer team was in Barbados to play the local teams in the return leg of the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifying competition, which was attended by the Ambassador.  The Americans won the game 1-0 after winning the first leg in California 8-0 the previous weekend.

Ambassador Mary Ourisman received her soccer jersey from coach Bob Bradley, which was signed by members of the team during a luncheon attended by Ambassador Ourisman on Saturday June 22, 2008.
